Calcium heptate monohydrate with a chemical formula of C₇H₁₂CaO₄.H₂O, also called calcium pimelate(CaPim). Calcium pimelate is a highly effective and thermally stable β-nucleating agent (β-NA). It is frequently used in isotactic polypropylene to induce the formation of β-crystals, which are thermodynamically difficult to obtain without the presence of a nucleating agent, while providing a polymer with enhanced impact strength and toughness. It can also function as surface modifier in polymer composites
