D4H, a cyclic monomer readily for hydrosilylation reactions, is used to monomer to produce functional silicones (with defined Si-H functionality). It is also used as a CVD precursor for thin films with low dielectric constants. It is an effective and milder reducing agent because the presence of hydridic hydrogen.
